Consistency in an Ever-Changing City: An Old Clock Tower in Contemporary Hong Kong

The Kowloon and Canton Railway (KCR) Station

The image of the Kowloon and Canton Railway (KCR) Station in Tsim Sha Tsui shows the tower without any clock faces as a result of a delay in delivery due to the First World War. The clock faces (worth HKD6,260) were eventually shipped from Britain in the fall of 1919, and installation was completed in 1921 at the cost of an additional HKD2,200.
