Saka Dawa prayers
Light streams through temple windows while monks recite prayers during Saka Dawa, the month-long ritual observance of the Buddha's birth, enlightenment, and death held during the fourth Tibetan month. Tibetans believe that the merit earned by one's good thoughts, words, and deeds are multiplied during this period, particularly on the 15th day of the month.
