Collecting Personal Information
The Cross-Currents e-journal collects the following personal information from its registered users: first and last name, geographic location, and email address. Registration, which is strictly voluntary, allows readers to post comments about articles.
Disclosure to Third Parties
The names and locations of registered users may be made public on the e-journal website, but email addresses are kept confidential by the Cross-Currents staff.
Ownership of Site
Unless otherwise indicated, the Cross-Currents website is the property of UC Berkeley. You acknowledge and agree that the Cross-Currents website, and any software used in connection with the Cross-Currents website, may contain proprietary and confidential information that is protected by applicable laws governing intellectual property, proprietary rights, and the like. All Cross-Currents site code and specifications are subject to their said or implied licenses.
Ownership of Content
Copyrighted works are protected regardless of the medium in which they are created or reproduced. Thus, copyright extends to both digital works and works transformed into a digital format. The copyright in the material contained on the Cross-Currents website belongs to Cross-Currents or its licensors.
Fair Use provisions allow use of copyrighted material without the authorization from the copyright owner for limited purposes, such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research.
